Why deal with Canada Drug Supply?
Canada Drug Supply is known in various areas all over the U.S., in doctors' offices, Senior associations, Senior communities, Senior social services and other circles. Canada Drug Supply has been featured numerous times in newspapers and on television.

Who are you?
Canada Drug Supply is a local U.S. business registered in several states. We are U.S. citizens, operating our business for your convenience at a local level. Our service area includes the entire U.S.A. We have customers in all states of our country. See the "About Us" page for our telephone numbers. We are not an Internet service with an answering machine in Canada, Sri Lanka, Mexico or India. Don't you just hate the telephone answering, computer generated voices that are standard with many companies? We will never do this.

Can you fill my American prescriptions?
Yes. The service includes having a Canadian doctor review your Medical Profile and approve the prescription under their Canadian license. This is why it is very important you send us your completed application forms and original prescriptions. This Physician rewrite/approval service is included in the prices we quote you.

What does the pharmacy carry?
The Canadian pharmacy carries thousands of prescription drug products and several of the more popular over the counter "OTC" medications. In addition, the Pharmacy fills pet prescriptions. If you do not see what you are looking for, call us.

What are examples of things I cannot get from the pharmacy?
Controlled substances such as Vicodin, Oxycodone, Xanax, Valium, Ambien, Hydrocodone, Tylenol #3, and aspirin with Codiene, anything with Codiene, Testosterone, etc. cannot be shipped to the U.S. There are others as well. If in doubt, call us and we will let you know.

What if I need to take my maintenance medication right away?
Ask your doctor for two prescriptions: one for a short-term supply and one for a 90-day supply (with refills as needed). Have the short-term supply filled immediately at your local pharmacy, and send the 90-day supply prescription to Canada Drug Supply.

How competitive are your prices?
We know that the prices quoted are very competitive based on our extensive research and the positive feedback from clients. The Canadian pharmacy surveys the market on a regular basis to ensure competitive pricing. You may find lower prices elsewhere, but beware of hidden charges. Also, be careful to accurately compare dosage, quantities, brands and service. Please call us; we will be happy to answer all your questions.

Will you accept returns?
No. All medication(s) that have been dispensed and shipped are not returnable under Canadian law. By sending your prescriptions, you agree to purchase those prescriptions. Therefore, it is important that you and your physician have established the appropriate medication and dosage for your condition before placing your order.

What if I do not find what I am looking for?
Call or email us. We would be happy to look into your request and add it to the inventory, if possible.

Safety - what assurances do I have?
The Canadian pharmaceutical industry is among the most regulated and the safest in the world. Our affiliated Canadian pharmacy is licensed within the province of British Columbia, Canada, also employing the services of several licensed Pharmacists. All drugs sold in Canada are Health Canada approved. Health Canada is very similar to the FDA. Canadian drugs that they provide are obtained from safe and reliable Canadian pharmaceutical sources. Most of the major U.S. drug companies ship to the suppliers in Canada. Canadian licensed pharmacies and pharmacists simply would not risk dealing with anything less than absolutely reliable and recognized Canadian sources of supply. Customer orders once processed by the Canadian pharmacy are shipped directly to the customer in the U.S.

Are there any differences in Canadian drugs vs. American drugs?
Many of the drugs available in Canada are the same ones manufactured by the same pharmaceutical companies that are sold in U.S. Well-known Canadian pharmaceutical companies manufacture the generics sold in Canada and the U.S. Drug qualities of Canadian drugs are comparable or better to those in the U.S. Drugs sold in Canada are very safe and reliable.

What are maintenance medications?
These medications are prescribed for the ongoing treatment of a chronic condition such as high blood pressure, depression or high cholesterol. Generally, these types of medications are taken for extended periods of time. Many maintenance medications such as Lipitor, Zocor and Plavix are very expensive. Considerable cost savings on these types of medications are available when you order though Canada Drug Supply.

Are all American drugs available?
Most American drugs and most doses of American drugs are available in Canada. Sometimes the drug is simply not available or not yet approved for sale in Canada. In addition, sometimes not all American doses of a drug are available. The following illustrates some examples of this:

US Name Notes
Dyazide 37.5/25mg Only the generic 50/25mg dose is available
Glucovance Not available as a combination drug. Glyburide and Metformin are sold separately-same drug. Note: if bought separately the price is lower in Canada.
Norvasc 2.5mg Only 5 mg and 10mg available

Brand vs. Generic - What is the difference?
A generic drug is a medication for which the original manufacturer has lost patent protection. Because of this, other manufacturers are allowed to produce and sell the exact medication at a lower, more competitive price. The generic drug is the same medication as the original brand name drug, simply made by another company. Due to strict regulations on the generic drug industry, these drugs must provide the same therapeutic effect as the brand name drug. Due to different patent laws in Canada, generic drugs become available sooner than in the U.S. This creates opportunities for even greater savings.

Why are some drug names different in Canada?
These are trade or brand names registered by the manufacturer. In different countries, manufacturers will often use different trade names. The medications have the same active ingredients but may look different and have a different trade name. Another reason for a different name in Canada is that the product may differ slightly. The table below has some common examples.

US Name Canada Name Notes
Aciphex Pariet
Augmentin Clavulin
Depakote Epival
Lexapro Cipralex
Prempro Premplus Must be written as Premplus in order to be filled in Canada. Premplus is 2 tablets per day. One of each drug that makes up a Prempro.
Prilosec Losec

What happens if my package is lost in transit?
If your order is lost in the mail, the pharmacy will send you a replacement at no charge (shipping with Tier #1). However, you may be held liable for the loss if it is determined you have provided us with an incorrect mailing address.

What if I have a summer and a winter address?
No problem. Many Canada Drug Supply customers have dual addresses. Please provide any new address information when any order is made and your package will be shipped there.

How long does order processing and shipping take?
When Canada Drug Supply receives your first order, on average, order processing takes two to three business days before being shipped from the Canadian pharmacy. After Tier #1 ships the order, typically it takes 4-7 business days to be delivered. Sometimes, packages are stopped and inspected by U.S. Customs personnel and that can add another 5-10 days to shipping. For the most part, after we receive your order, plan on one week before receiving your package.

Can husband and wife orders be combined?
No. One customer, one package. Two customer orders cannot be shipped within the same box even if they reside at the same address. Customs may delay or seize such shipments. Could be deemed as a commercial shipment. We know other pharmacies that do this, but why risk it.

How can I get my order status?
Call Canada Drug Supply or the Canadian pharmacy. Order status can be provided within seconds. The Pharmacy policy is to have a live person answer the telephone-every time-you call during normal business hours. This is important. Where else is contacting a pharmacy this easy? Nowhere.

How can I pay for my order?
We accept major credit cards: Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. We can make special arrangements for Money orders issued through banking institutions. Call us for the procedure.

Some credit card companies add a hidden fee. Call your credit card company to check on their policy. These fees added by your various credit card companies vary from one card type to another. The Canadian pharmacy in no way adds any fees to your purchase. Solely your credit card company would add anything over and above what we quote.

Is there a limit on how much I can buy?
The pharmacy will ship a maximum of 90-100 days supply for each medication ordered, if your prescriptions are written that way. Prescriptions will be filled as indicated with no exceptions. Any refills indicated on the prescription will be kept on file for your use later.

What about refills?
When we receive your prescriptions, usually there are available refills indicated. We keep that information on file. You can call us at any time to request any refills to be sent. When your prescription runs out, the Pharmacy can fax your doctor for a new prescription. Most doctors are happy to oblige their patients with this service. If the Pharmacy has difficulty, they will contact you.

Do you accept insurance?
No. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any insurance at this time. However, a detailed invoice will be provided to you with your order so you can submit an insurance claim. Many U.S. insurance companies accept our invoice. Contact your insurance company before making your purchase to make sure of their Canadian pharmacy reimbursement policy. Explain to them that you intend to make a purchase from a Canadian pharmacy and you will get a detailed invoice to facilitate reimbursement.

Will any of my information be disclosed to another company?
No. Only Canada Drug Supply and the Canadian pharmacy will have access to your customer information.

How safe is my customer information?
All of your information including your credit card information is held in strictest confidence. Only Canada Drug Supply and the Canadian Pharmacy will have access to your customer information. We do not transmit your completed application over the Internet. Once we receive your application, we fax it direct to the Pharmacy. Our practice is then to shred the file.

The Canadian Pharmacy follows and abides by the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act of 2000 ("PIPEA") and applicable provincial legislation to maintain the privacy of your personal information.

The FDA, due to the current state of their regulations, has taken the position that virtually all shipments of prescription drugs imported from a Canadian Pharmacy by a U. S. consumer will violate the law.
